It seems a common misconception that extroverts make better marketers. It’s true that there are things extroverts will do better. Networking, for instance, will come easier. Being more capable of inner-office PR will come more naturally as well. Extroverts tend to tackle assignments quickly. They make fast (sometimes rash) decisions and are comfortable multi-tasking and risk taking (from Quite). As a mostly introvert, I know all too well that these skills are not introvert-natural. They are always a struggle for me. And for a long time, I thought being an introvert generally put me at a disadvantage in my chosen profession as a marketer. But, thankfully, I had some good mentors and leaders, and a rather game-changing book, to correct my thinking.
